Wndrfalk

Collaboration

Wndrfalk has no accounts and no server for your project data. Collaboration therefore works through content that you send yourself: as a link, as a QR code or as text.

What you can send

  • Task: You send another person a copy of your task. The original stays with you.
  • Reply: the other person's answer when they have completed the task
  • Status update: the state of a project
  • Request: a wish that you record yourself in the inbox

Send a copy

  1. Tap the task, then Assignee › Assign …. The same entry is under More.
  2. Write the Name or tap a known name. Since records from when the task is with the person.
  3. Choose how:
    • Send a copy: for people who use Wndrfalk themselves. The task appears in their Inbox, with title, description, due date and priority.
    • Save: for people without Wndrfalk. Wndrfalk only notes “With …”, and the task stays in your list.
  4. With Send a copy, the first time you write Your name for the recipients. It appears in what you send and leaves the device only when you share. If needed, add Message (optional) and Reply to (optional). Reply to appears only as text in the message, never as a link.
  5. Tap Share at the bottom. It opens your phone's share menu. Above it are Show as QR code, Copy as text and Copy link. For very long tasks, Copy as text is at the bottom instead, because some messengers cut off long links. The copied text ends with the link. People who use Wndrfalk paste it under Inbox › Paste a link or text.

As soon as you share, copy or show the QR code, Wndrfalk notes “With …” and the name. “View link” shows the link and its length, “View text” the text you copy. The back arrow lets you change the name.

To send without a recipient, use the task details: Send a copy is still under Actions, and To (optional) stays optional there.

Several tasks at once: Tap Select, choose the tasks and tap More › Assign …. Send a copy sends them all in one package; the recipient takes them over into a project in one step, and the reply covers them all together. Up to 30 tasks fit in one package. Anyone with an older version of Wndrfalk sees a note to open the link again after the update.

Receive

The Inbox collects what others send you.

  1. Tap Inbox at the bottom, then Paste a link or text.
  2. Paste the link or text, or choose an image with Choose image with QR code.
  3. Tap Import into Inbox.

Wndrfalk does not read the clipboard on its own. The text you paste stays on the device. Only when you tap Paste from clipboard while saving a response does Wndrfalk read the clipboard, once.

The filters All, Requests, Tasks, Replies and Status updates sort the list. New items are counted on the icon at the bottom.

Add to a project

  1. Under Needs a decision, tap the entry.
  2. Read the task and the Requested date.
  3. Tap Add to project …, choose the project and tap Add.

If you have no project yet, Project name appears instead of the list, filled in with the sender's project. Add creates the project and adds the task in one step. If you already have projects, choose Create project below the list; the same field then appears.

Later postpones the decision, Decline discards the task. The added task shows “Received from …” in the details.

Reply

When you complete a task you received, the message at the bottom offers Reply to …. The inbox also shows Replies to send with the tasks until you reply. Tap Reply to … and send the reply the same way as a copy. For the sender, the entry is named after the task; Apply status sets the status there.

Replies and status updates end up under Received. Tap Done when you have seen them, or Mark all received as seen in the menu.

Add request

Add a request yourself when someone asks you for something by message or phone.

  1. In the inbox, tap the Menu, then Add request.
  2. Write Sender, What it’s about and, if you like, Contact and Requested date.
  3. Tap Add request.

Status update

The status update shows others how your project stands. It contains the project name, your name, the number of tasks per status and up to eight tasks that are not yet done, with title, status, assignee and date. These are the ones due next. Subtasks don't count.

  1. In the project menu, tap Status report and choose Status update.
  2. Write Your name for the recipients.
  3. Tap Share, Copy link, Show as QR code or Copy as text.

The recipient reads the link, the QR code or the text in the inbox. There it shows your name and the project name. A status update is a snapshot and does not update itself. Send a new one when something changes. For a report with an assessment, the status report is better suited.
